I have more than 1200 saved pieces on facebook, over 35000 pins on pinterest; all saved for future use because they have inspired or triggered a need for action. In taking the action to ‘save’ or ‘pin’ I thought I was taking the first step toward doing something – that is a whole load of first steps with no follow through. And, believe it or not, I advocate for follow through in a big way, that is one high horse you do not want to hear me on. So in embarking on my #100DayProject for 2017, #100DaysOfAdvocacy, I’m going for the follow through. Why Advocate? because as Dr Seuss so beautifully pointed out. “Unless Someone Like You Cares a Whole Awful Lot Nothing is going to get Better, It’s Not.”/
That was a real catchy first paragraph – not! If you’re still with me after that preamble, let me take you on my Advocacy Journey. I’d like to think that I am well read on the Autism Spectrum, so well read that at times I can almost drown in the sea of contradiction and in fighting and so I have decided to embark on my #100DaysOfAdvocacy. Advocating the positives of difference, I plan to create hand crafted textured art with inspirational messages, share those pins and saves I have taken my first steps with, use what I already have and celebrate my difference.
April 4th to July 12th I’ll be advocating daily via my site here, facebook, instagram, pinterest, twitter hopefully not to the point of “here we go again” but to the end of “what can I do to make a difference”
And so the journey begins.
